1.OBE (Open Basic Education):-

6.For ITI students:-     

Students who want to advance in the IT and Technology sector can apply for the online ITI Learner Program conducted by NIOS. It is a 2-year regular course offered to students under the Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS). Students choose to take at least five subjects. 3 subjects will be computer-based subjects, one will be a language subject and another subject can be chosen from other core subjects offered by NIOS.

7.Under the Nepia Project:-

NIOS also offers courses under the NEPIA scheme. It is a joint educational project for the Indian Army (NEPIA) and NIOS to provide human resource quotient to Indian Army soldiers with various educational qualifications.

NIOS Board Subject Detail:-

NIOS ODE (On-Demand Examination):-

The National Institute of Open Schooling also has a system of On-Demand Examination (ODES). In which candidates can take the exam when they are ready for it. Candidates have to choose the program themselves to take the exam.

This system was first introduced in the year 2003 at the secondary level and proved to be a major step towards flexibility and distance learning. This system of nios board made the total system of examination independent from the time limit.

Seeing the success at the secondary level, this system was introduced in the year 2007 at the senior secondary level. Presently, National Institute of Open Schooling conducts On-Demand Examination (ODES) at NIOS Headquarters-Noida and its Regional Centers and some Kendriya Vidyalayas.

Examination in a year:-

The examinations are conducted twice a year: in April-May and October-November. Students are allowed a maximum of nine opportunities in five years to complete their exams; They can appear for as many or as many subjects as they want at a time. Students who do not complete the exam in all of their chosen subjects within the specified period may re-apply and transfer their exam credits.

Most of the questions in theory paper require short answers or answers in marks. Practical exam is conducted in subjects like Science, Geography, Word Processing, Home Science and Painting.
